World Intellectual Property Day

2000 26 Apr

Every year, since 2000, 26th April is being celebrated as the World Intellectual Property Day to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property in encouraging innovation and creativity. This is the day on which the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Convention came into force in 1970.

The theme of this celebration is “Digital Creativity: Culture Reimagined” that invite everyone to explore the future of culture in the digital age: how we create it, how we access it, how we finance it. The programme will look into how a flexible intellectual property system helps ensure that the artists and creative industries are properly paid for their work, so they can keep creating.

We invite one and all to be a part of this world-wide celebration to promote IPR and Innovation for sustainable future.
